*Like Product Hunt, but for unbuilt futures.*
## **Mission Statement**:
We believe the future belongs to everyone -- and that everyone should have access to the ideation process. Today, the future is driven by tech CEOs, but tomorrow it will be decided by the public. Culture runs upstream of capitalism, and by starting conversations, we will shape what is built. Future Form is a forum to share your ideas for what our world could look like, what we could build, and to have your voice heard.
## **Benefits**:
- Create markets before products by socializing futures to the public (the ultimate "lean startup method")
- Attract resources and talent for projects
- Get to PMF faster with engaged customer base involved in co-creation
- Crowdsource intelligence to surface tertiary impact before the build process begins (antidote to "move fast and break things")
- Bring a diverse perspective to future design (one that better reflects the customer base)
- Inspire potential entrepreneurs and focus them on compelling ideas and markets
- Increase the quality of ideas by generating value for visionaries and "idea people", including artists and others without technical skills (execution > idea is a myth we need to explore the flip side of)
- Grow a builder community where people of different talents can connect with one another
- Counteract Hollywood's tech pessimism (Black Mirror, Handmaid's Tale) with rational, tech optimism that engages people to improve the world rather than disengage
## **MVP**:
*A website that aggregates a list of futures that are ranked by number of upvotes, with a comment section under each one (see product hunt home page for inspiration).*
- Form factors for contributions: image, drawing, short written text, animation, video, selfie video explanation, request for artist rendering, etc.
- Comment section divides responses by category, e.g. "the scientist take", "the technologist take", "the customer take", "the investor take", "the artist take", etc.
- Pre-populate a list of futures from these sources to get started, before user contributions come in: sci fi writer ideas, trends research centers, futurists, ASU center for science and the imagination, MIT, Singularity, YC, market research on cutting edge tech, scientific journals, futurism magazine, etc. including a section for "Latest in Science" to inspire future-thinking
### Examples
- Temperature-Controlled Clothing "Skins"
- I'd like to wear clothing (like Lululemon leggings/tank) that senses the exterior temperature and heats or cools itself to maintain a consistent skin temperature. In this way, I can wear the same lightweight clothing in the middle of the winter or summer.
